PRIVACY POLICY of
Life in Christ Christian Reformed Church

1. Accountability: Life in Christ Christian Reformed Church (“Church”) works to protect the personal information of its members and attendees, and works to ensure compliance with applicable privacy legislation.  To ensure that the Church protects personal information of members and attendees, including information held or transferred to third party for processing, the Church develops, implements and maintains on-going personal information policies and practices, in addition to training staff and volunteers for compliance.

2. Identifying purposes: The Church collects personal information from members and attendees for the following reasons:
• To inform and contact you about the activities and events of the Church
• To allow other members and attendees at the Church to contact you
• To enable the functionality of any church information management software or application, including but not                limited to online giving/offering software or applications.
The Church will obtain your consent before using your personal information for any new purpose.

3. Collection, use, disclosure, and retention of private information: The Church will not collect your personal information indiscriminately, and it will not deceive or mislead you about the reasons for collecting your personal information. The Church will keep your personal information as long as necessary to satisfy the purposes described in Section 2 above. The Church will not destroy or make anonymous your personal information unless you request so because that would prevent us from contacting you in the event of a reunion celebration. If at any time you decide to revoke your consent for the Church to keep and use your personal information, please contact the Church.

4. Accuracy and Safeguards: The Church will work to minimize the possibility of using incorrect information. The Church will work to protect your personal information against loss or theft, safeguard the information from unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification, and will work to protect personal information regardless of the format in which it is held.  However, the Church is not responsible for the actions of third-parties that may have access to your personal information, including online application providers.

5. Openness and Individual access: This document is the Church’s notification to you about the Church’s privacy policies. You may refer to it at any time at on/at www.lifeinchristcrc.org. Please contact the Church to confirm and correct your personal information in our records in writing.

6. Recourse: If a problem or dispute arises with respect to the Church’s handling of your personal information, please contact an elder of the Church and the Church Council will promptly investigate and take appropriate measures.

7. Consent: Please give the Church your consent to use the personal information that we collect from you as described in Section 2 of the attached Privacy Policy, until you revoke such consent (this consent will apply with respect to all your immediate family members who are members or attendees of the Church).

IMPORTANT: If you use any church social media, website, or electronic application in communicating with the Church or any of its members or attendees, including email or any online database or communication application, your use of those resources will also confirm your consent for the Church to use the information you provide as described in Section 2 of the attached Privacy Policy.
